The New England Patriots have dropped to a 3-11 record after their 27-16 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in week 15. The team is all set to finish a season with less than 7 wins, their worst since the 2000 season where they won just five games and lost 11. In addition, the team will suffer back-to-back losing seasons.

With all these, there are rumors that the owner Robert Kraft might sack Bill Belichick after the season. Multiple speculations are blowing in the wind while both Belichick and Kraft did not share insights on this possible outcome.

Amid all these tumultuous conditions, the Chiefs TE Travis Kelce had some golden words in favor of the head coach. In the post-game media interaction, the TE did not refrain him from showing respect to one of the greatest coaches in the league.

He throws so much at you, he always has a lot of guys that can play smart. So hats off to Belichick for today for making my life tough, that’s for damn sure. And on top of that, always getting a good group of guys to play well together. I got a lot of respect for that team.

The six-time Super Bowl-winning team’s HC has suffered a lot of criticism this season. Some analysts blamed him for the poor performance of his quarterback Mac Jones. He suffered tussles inside the team when his third-choice QB Malik Cunningham left for the Baltimore Ravens. It was hinted that Belichick did not acknowledge the talent that Cunningham used to pose.

The fact you just said that, I mean yeah, that’s wild to even think about. But I got a feeling that guy has some football left in him.

Praising Belichick’s defense, he further added,

I have all the respect in the world for that guy. Every single time I go up against him — it’s the toughest job in the NFL to go up against a Belichick defense.

Both Kelce and Belichick had some share of words during the game. It was an interesting moment for the NFL enthusiasts.
