Russell Wilson was one of the worst-performing QBs of last season. The Super Bowl winner moved from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos in a massive trade. Sadly, it didn’t turn out in his favor and the QB had a horrendous performance. The Broncos had one of the worst records in the previous NFL season. Interestingly, Wilson was also one of the most criticized QB from last season.
Many called out the QB for his failure to perform and believed that his era is over. However, there are some analysts who still believe in Wilson and have defended him heavily. Chris Canty recently feature on ESPN and spoke about Wilson’s potential to make it to the Hall of Fame. Canty believes that the Broncos QB has the potential and can even be considered better than veteran QB Aaron Rodgers.
“You mentioned Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. I mean, Russell Wilson’s been to more Super Super Bowls than both of those guys,” Canty stated. “Now, you can say it’s because of the defense or product of his environment. But Russell Wilson was been a steady force in Seattle, which allowed them to be as competitive as they have been.”
Although comparing Russell Wilson to Aaron Rodgers is a far shot, Canty had the relevant stats to prove it. The NFL analyst spoke about their playoff history and made an interesting revelation.

Chris Canty has an astounding stat regarding Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers
Personal accomplishments considered, Aaron Rodgers is a way better QB than Russell Wilson. However, Chris Canty pointed out that the Broncos QB has a better team performance than the Jets QB.
Both Wilson and Rodgers have won one Super Bowl each. However, the former has also appeared in two Super Bowls with the Seahawks while Rodgers has just been to one.
“Being in the playoffs eight of the ten years and in one of the years, the reason why he didn’t go is because he was injured. Everybody can understand the impact that Russell Wilson is making on his team,” Chris Canty said.
This makes Wilson superior to Rodgers, according to Chris Canty. Russell Wilson is known to make a significant impact on any team he plays for. Maybe, the talented QB had a down season and will be back to his best as soon as the next season comes around.
