Rashard Mendenhall made an interesting proposition recently. In a bid to make the NFL Pro Bowl more interesting, he suggested that, rather than the AFC and NFC playing against one another, the teams should be based on the ethnicity of the players.

He gave the idea for players to be divided based on their color. Former Patriot Chris Long shared his two cents on Mendenhall’s suggestion via The Pat McAfee Show.

The defensive end said it like it is.

They (Whites) got no shot. I went to the Sixers game Friday night with Malcolm Jenkins and my family. We were enjoying watching him go for 50 and inevitably that came up and we were talking about if we were coaching that team what kind of defense we would run.

Long further stated,

I don't know maybe we run some new system that nobody's seen, we rush two we drop nine, you know like Christian McCaffrey you got to play corner.

While offense is not going to be a problem for Team White, defensively, they will have a hard time staying in the game.

Team White will have a rough time keeping up with Team Black as per Chris Long

You know it is bad when you need to consider the possibility of putting Christian McCaffrey at corner.

That's the position I'm worried about now. Everybody knows the elephant in the room is like there's not enough kids at Iowa on scholarship to feel to an All-White and All-White defensive backfield so that's what I'm worried about..."

While the team might be able to score on offense, it will not be easy for them. They will be going up against the best defensive players across all positions in the NFL. That pass-rush attack will be insane. Aaron Donald, Chase Young, and Micah Parsons all charging at the quarterback. Sheesh, good luck holding that back.

Offensively, Team Black has a pretty good lineup as well. Put Jalen Hurts, C.J. Stroud, or Lamar Jackson in at QB, Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, and CeeDee Lamb as the primary targets.

At this point, it is just not fair. Maybe it’s best to keep the Pro Bowl’s existing format in the best interest of Team White.
