The NFL Pro Bowl week festivities are an event the athletes look forward to for most of the year. It gives players, current and former, a chance to hang out and unwind. In this year’s Pro Bowl, the precision passing contest was one of the events for the quarterbacks across the league.

Surprisingly, the man who got the best score is not even an active player! It was Dan Orlovsky, the former QB for the Lions who managed to put up 27 points in the first round!

While this was an impressive feat, there was one man who attempted to put Orlovsky down and push it off as meaningless. Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo. For some reason, the veteran analyst took it personally and acted as though this performance meant nothing.

Who cares? Indoors in a pair of pants on, tossing a football, who cares for crying out loud?

The salty analyst believes that virtually anyone can do what Orlovsky did. He took it up a notch when he brought up the incident when Dan Orlovsky ran out of bounds in a game when he was on the Detroit Lions.

He ran out of the endzone, nobody cares. That's like Stephen A getting 15 free throws in an empty gym and then he goes to a ball game and is 4-10 at the line with the game on the line...I can do this, this is not that difficult, hand me the ball, this is ridiculous, he was a scrub in the NFL.

Chris Russo was completely disrespectful towards Dan Orlovsky

Russo clearly crossed a line with those comments. To bring up an old incident of the quarterback where he made a blunder and then proceeded to bring him down by comparing his achievement to Stephen A. practicing free throws was unnecessary. There is no doubt that Dan Orlovsky’s throws at the precision passing contest will not translate into him being a great QB in the NFL. But the fact that he can still throw the ball this well after retirement is nothing short of impressive.

For Russo to think that he stands a chance at tallying or beating Orlovsky’s score is ridiculous and borderline delusional. Just for reference, C.J. Stroud scored 26, Baker Mayfield scored 24, Gardner Minshew scored 21, Jalen Hurts scored 17, and Tua Tagovailoa scored 16 in this contest.

Dan Orlovsky beat current NFL quarterbacks and for Chris Russo to downplay his accomplishments on live television is unprofessional considering that the QB is his counterpart on ESPN. Orlovsky was asked about Russo’s response on the Pat McAfee Show and the analyst behaved like a true professional and was respectful as he declined to say anything negative about him. Nevertheless, Orlovsky’s score in the precision passing contest is impressive.
