Christian McCaffrey is a smart dude on and off the pitch. Since he entered the NFL, he has lit up every game with his sleek cuts and outrageous huddles to score numerous touchdowns. But he has been doing that since his college days while playing for the Stanford Cardinals.

At Stanford, McCaffrey bagged several accolades. But he truly came into the limelight during the 2015 season. The Cardinals defeated their arch-nemesis, the USC Trojans, winning the PAC-12 Championship. A local Californian rivalry, which both sides wanted to avoid, especially when David Shaw was running the program in Palo Alto.

That was in the past, and currently, he is one of the best running backs in the NFL, donning the San Francisco 49ers colors. Recently, while signing autographs, fans tried to play a prank on McCaffrey by slipping in a USC cap. But they probably weren’t expecting him to figure it out quickly.

His instant reply was:

What the hell?

He then refused to sign it because of his allegiance to Stanford. The 27-year-old, after a short pause, changed his mind, though, and decided to have a little fun of his own.

McCaffrey typed into his phone and searched for the Cardinals’ PAC-12 win over USC. He started writing down the result of the match, 41-22. Not only that, he even inscribed his own statistics from the night. They were an insane 207 rushing yards and another 105 yards through the air while scoring a touchdown. However, the cherry on top was the crossing of the USC logo engraved on the cap.

Will Christian McCaffrey play against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18?

There’s only one game remaining in the 2023 regular NFL season. The San Francisco 49ers have already booked their spot in the playoffs. Not only that, they will go into the postseason as the NFC’s top-ranked team.

Before that, the 49ers will welcome the Los Angeles Rams (9-7) at Levis Stadium on January 8. The Rams secured their passage to the playoffs with a win over the New York Giants in Week 17.

Monday’s matchup will see a massive miss for the 49ers, who will not have Christian McCaffrey available. The All-Pro rusher hurt his calf early in the third quarter of the Washington Commanders game. He had 91 scrimmage yards before going off. Afterward, the Pro Bowler said that it was a mild nudge, nothing too serious. But the 9ers are not taking any chances and are thinking ahead for the playoffs.

“We’re really confident in that. It was good news. It could have been a lot worse. We’re happy, and we’ll take care of him this week. Hopefully, he’ll start getting to go during our off week,” head coach Kyle Shanahan said, as per the 49ers official website.

Not fielding McCaffrey won’t make much difference unless they lose the game, that is. He will have almost three weeks until February to recover and be ready to score some more touchdowns.
