The Cincinnati Bengals are in a world of trouble after their quarterback Joe Burrow has officially been ruled out for the rest of the NFL season. A recent video which was posted of the quarterback by the team itself had revealed Burrow walking into Thursday night’s game with a protective gear on his wrist.

The NFL is now investigating the Cincinnati Bengals for not listing Joe Burrow on the injury report and risking the quarterback’s health and well being by allowing him to play as per Adam Schefter. The league mandates that players must be put on IR when they are unable to play and are not immediately available for participation with their respective teams.;

Burrow stated that the video was him wearing a compression sleeve and not a soft cast. He was rocking it for reasons not relating to his season-ending injury.

This is a completely different thing. It is not uncommon for guys to wear compression sleeves on planes because when you got up to that altitude, you know things can swell up. In football, you have a lot of bumps and bruises. This is a completely new injury.

Joe Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his throwing wrist

Burrow immediately fell to the ground after throwing a touchdown pass to Joe Mixon. He went to the sidelines and attempted to continue practicing his throws, but was not able to and he was clearly in pain. This led to the Bengals having to rule him out for the rest of the game.

The NFL has made it a part of its routine to have investigations similar to this one, as the league is strict when it comes to punishing teams for not following the NFL’s rules relating to injuries. Punishments can be as severe as losing a draft pick or it could be in the form of fines.

This season has been nothing short of a nightmare for quarterbacks, as six of them have been ruled out for the rest of the season. Aaron Rodgers tore his ACL in his first game for the Jets, Kenny Pickett suffered a knee injury in October, Ryan Tannehill suffered a high ankle sprain, Kirk Cousins recently tore his Achilles and Daniel Jones faced an ACL tear this month which will keep him out for the rest of the year as well.
