‘Sky is the limit.’ The confidence level of the rookie quarterback CJ Stroud suggests that perfectly. After a phenomenal regular season followed by a playoff win, the rookie quarterback was awarded the ‘Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.’ He was indeed the favorite to win, which he eventually did.
In a recent interview with Zach Gelb, the quarterback stated that he considers himself among the Top quarterbacks playing in the league. He also stated that the numbers would speak for himself.
CJ Stroud said:
Yes Sir, I do. I think I put it on the film. I think my numbers speak for itself. Especially, missing two games. You know, if I did not miss those two games, my numbers would have been just as good or one of the best in the league.CJ Stroud told Zach Gelb
The quarterback seemed aware of the impact that he had created on the team. In the interview, he spoke explicitly about it. His words reflected his maturity as well as the determination that he had throughout the season.
He added:
And I think you can see the impact I had on my team. You know, so I am not in the business of like arguing. I am top five and I really do not care. I mean, I just want to win.CJ Stroud added
CJ Stroud did not put Joe Burrow on his top-five quarterback list
In the discussion, Zach Gelb asked the quarterback whom would he put on the list of his top five quarterbacks. The answer from the quarterback was a certain surprise-inducer. The rookie did not include Joe Burrow on the list.
Here is what he had to say:
Ah that's quick on the spot. I would say, of course Mahomes, I would say Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson. I would say myself. Then I would go... I would say either Tua or Hurts.CJ Stroud said
Gelb asked why he did not put Joe Burrow on the list. The answer was a prompt from one from the rookie. He said that he did not put Burrow on the list primarily because the latter did not play “last year.” He further claimed that he was a big fan of Burrow.
This is not the first time, the quarterback stated that Burrow was one of his favorite NFL stars. There have been many instances he has exhibited his love for the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback.
