The 4th-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins had a historic night on Sunday as they demolished the Denver Broncos in their week 3 matchup. It has been just 3 weeks but Tagovailoa is undeniably now the leading candidate for the 2023 MVP award. After the victory, an old picture of the Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel working as the ball boy of the Broncos went viral.

The Dolphins scored 70 points on the Broncos’ defense and had a chance to break the NFL‘s all-time single-game scoring record with a field goal. However, Mike McDaniel decided to take a knee instead of giving the Dolphins the single-game scoring record. When asked about his decision to not go for the scoring record in the post-game press conference, McDaniel said he was not there to chase any records.

Many people made speculations that McDaniel took pity on the Broncos since he worked as a ball boy for the Denver-based football team during his initial days. He worked as the ball boy for the Broncos when he was young. Furthermore, he was hired as the coaching intern of the Broncos when he was just 22 years old back in 2005.

Nonetheless, he rose through the ranks in the league and was named as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins in the 2022 off-season. And now, he led the Dolphins to a smashing 70-20 victory against the Broncos.

In the game, the Dolphins’ rookie running back Devon Achane had a breakthrough game as he carried the rock 18 times for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns while averaging 11.3 yards per carry. Furthermore, he also caught 4 passes for 30 more yards and 2 more touchdowns. Miami’s other running back Raheem Mostert also had a massive game as he accumulated 142 scrimmage yards and 4 total touchdowns.
