“He is 34 and he looks like he’s 39!” Colin Cowherd BASHES Russell Wilson after the Broncos blew an 18-point lead against the Commanders to go 0-2
Cowherd claims giving Wilson a massive contract could backfire for the Broncos.

Colin Cowherd wasn’t surprised when he witnessed the Denver Broncos capitulate with a 21-3 lead over the Washington Commanders yesterday. His assessment is that there is a lack of confidence in Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Denver franchise went into the game hoping to turn a new page after a disappointing loss in the first game. Their first-half performance almost made the Mile High crowd believe that, yes, it was finally a win on the board. But it wasn’t meant to be in the end.
Wilson’s last-second ‘Hail Mary’ did not present the result they were hoping for. Colin Cowherd believes it would have been avoidable if Wilson had not thrown so many incomplete passes.
“Russell Wilson is 34, and he looks like he’s 39,” said the veteran analyst on his podcast channel, The Volume. “He does not have the juice he had previously. I don’t know if it’s confidence, emotion, or major surgeries; he plays much older than his age.”
Confidence could be a factor for Wilson. A 5–12 season can take its toll on the psyche, and on top of that, his relationship with new head coach Sean Payton seems questionable.
Last week, Payton warned the former Seahawks player to concentrate more on playing football than engaging himself in other extracurricular activities. That’s partly the reason Cowherd predicts that it will be another ‘turbulent’ year for the Broncos.
“I think they are heading for major turbulence in Denver,” Cowherd continued. “This is a massively punitive contract to the Broncos with a coach and a quarterback with completely different personalities. This is only gonna get worse. The schedule will only get tougher.”
Trouble brews more for Russell Wilson and Co.
The Washington Commanders went into the game with confidence after beating a good Ravens team on opening day. Second-year quarterback Sam Howell was the pick of the bunch, completing two touchdowns for 188 yards. But the 23-year-old went one step further against the Broncos. His offensive line created a lot of pocket space for him to find 27 out of 39 passes for 299 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Russell Wilson did manage to register more passing yards than Howell, but his completion rate was pretty bad. He completed 18 of 32 passes for 308 yards, three touchdowns, and 1 interception. However, his 7 sacks should trouble the Broncos, considering they will be facing Christian Wilkins and the Miami Dolphins next week.
The schedule for the Denver Broncos does get tough. Barring the Bears, they will go up against the Jets, Packers, and Chiefs twice in 40 days.
