Renowned media personality Colin Cowherd has recently expressed his belief that the Miami Dolphins can become the title contenders. He thinks this can happen if they become successful in signing the running back Jonathan Taylor from the Indianapolis Colts.

On his show, ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ on the Fox Studio, Cowherd said that the Dolphins are already in better shape this year. With big names like quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and linebacker Bradley Chubb, they are already having adequate squad depth. In addition to this, they are exploring trading opportunities for Jonathan Taylor. If the star running back agrees to join the Dolphins, then they will certainly become one of the favorites to grab this year’s Super Bowl.

In his show, Cowherd was also seen making a strategic analysis of the team. He said, “There are only two ways to win a Super Bowl. You can have a star quarterback or have a good quarterback, who is not paid highly. The Dolphins are doing things in the right way. They have Jalen Ramsey and Bradly Chubb, and they have brought in Dan Freeny and now they want Jonathan Taylor.”

Talking about the team’s star quarterback, he added that Tua is the only QB in the competition who has made it to the Pro Bowl. His contract is up and he does not have much time left for the Dolphins. Only two to three years are in the pipeline and hence he can go all the way to clinch this year’s title.

Not only that, but also Cowherd praised how the Dolphins’ management is handling the team. He said that they are seeking the perfect balance for the team with the right choice of players. However, Cowherd seemed harsh while comparing the Dolphins with other teams like the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. He believes that both the Vikings and Cowboys are fooling themselves with B-level quarterbacks, and are providing them with A-level salaries.

Last year, the Dolphins made a significant improvement in their performance. Under the coaching brilliance of head coach Mike McDaniel, the team was able to make it through to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. The team also finished its season with three straight winning seasons for the first time since the 2001-2003 season.

With the success in the last season, the team is gearing up to provide better results in this year’s championship. With Tagovailoa, Ramsey, and Hill, the team is already in a strong position. It will be icing on the cake if Jonathan Taylor joins their hand. Sources have revealed that the Indianapolis Colts have already allowed Taylor to pursue a trade. (H/T: AP)
