Colin Cowherd believes Sean McDermott’s contract extension is a clear sign to Stefon Diggs that the Bills HC ‘runs the show’

The Buffalo Bills have been in a tough spot this offseason as they have managed to keep their squad at full strength. The ongoing Stefon Diggs drama has not helped them. The Bills WR has been unsettled for quite some time now, and his absence can seriously falter the Bills’ Super Bowl aspirations next season.
Interestingly, the Buffalo-based team has made a significant decision in these troubled times and has decided to extend the contracts of HC Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane. Although this isn’t breaking news, Colin Cowherd thinks otherwise.
Cowherd was recently featured on ‘The Herd’ and stated that McDermott’s signing a new contract is an indirect ultimatum to Stefon Diggs. The talented WR missed the mandatory training camp and the management is trying to tell him who runs the show.
“Players can offense sense high maintenance players, noisy players can often sense when they have leverage in the coaches on the ropes,” Colin Cowherd stated on the Herd. “This is a bat signal to Stefon Diggs. Sean [McDermott] still runs the show.”
According to Cowherd, the Bills have made their priorities clear after extending McDermott’s contract. Still, the loss of Stefon Diggs will be disastrous for them, as he is their best playmaker and has the stats to support that.

The Buffalo Bills can’t afford to lose Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs is currently regarded as one of the best WRs in the NFL. The talented WR is highly versatile and was the foundation of their offense last season.
However, Diggs felt he was being underutilized last season, which led to his outburst against QB Josh Allen. The loss against the Cincinnati Bengals was disastrous, and since then, the Bills WR has been unsettled with the team.
The AFC East is the most competitive division in the NFL, with all the teams fighting for the top spot. In that case, if the Bills don’t manage to retain the services of Diggs, then it can have adverse effects.
On the other hand, there will be many teams lined up to get Stefon Diggs’ signature. With preseason just around the corner, the Bills and their WR need to make a decision swiftly.
