Jordan Love is now officially the starter for the Green Bay Packers after the departure of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. The 24-year-old QB was drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.
There were two major QBs drafted before him, Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert and Cincinnati Bengals‘ Joe Burrow. Both of those QBs have done exceptional things for their team. Now it’s Love’s turn to do the same. However, Colin Cowherd believes that Love won’t keep the QB legacy alive in Green Bay and can turn out to be a massive failure. The NFL analyst gave an interesting analogy when explaining his point.
According to Cowherd, Jordan Love has never had a ‘wow’ moment when playing for the Packers. Although he has started just a single professional game before in the previous season, his performance in training has also been lukewarm.
Interestingly, Cowherd also compared Love with the Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes and explained how he stole everyone’s attention as soon as he arrived in Kansas City. Mahomes displayed greatness from his first throw in the NFL.
“So, I remember the first year Patrick Mahomes got drafted, and he didn’t play until the last week, but video started coming out in camp of Patrick Mahomes making plays,” Colin Cowherd stated on The Herd. “Jordan Love has been with the Packers for four years. You cannot find one intense wow moment of practice video, not one.”

Jordan Love won’t be able to replace the greatness of Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers won almost everything with the Packers. Therefore, it’s difficult to replace the legendary QB. With Jordan Love now in charge of the offense, many have doubts over his appointment, including some Packers players.
Colin Cowherd spoke to his ‘inside’ source from the Packers organization to find out about the progress of Love. Interestingly, the source believes that the 24-year-old doesn’t have the wow factor.
“I was told in the last 72 hours by an incredibly connected Green Bay source,” Colin Cowherd stated on the Herd. “He said four years, three years. I never saw the juice.”
Jordan Love has massive shoes to fill while unrealistic expectations are thrust upon him. However, if he finds a way to overcome the adversity then maybe the young QB can have an illustrious future in the NFL.
