Colin Cowherd is a veteran sports anchor and his takes on the daily happenings in the NFL are interesting to hear. However, more often than not, his takes don’t make much sense because, quite frankly, they lack proper stats to back them up. The same happened when he released his top 10 head coach quarterback combo in the league.
It came as no surprise that he placed Andy Reid–Patrick Mahomes at the top of the list. There is no one close to them in the league currently, as they did just win the Super Bowl. The number 2 spot was held by Sean McVay–Matthew Stafford. While the 2022 World Champions had one of the worst seasons as defending Super Bowl champs, Cowherd is confident that the team will bounce back in the coming season.
The next combos in line are — Sean Payton-Russell Wilson, Doug Pederson-Trevor Lawrence, and John Harbaugh-Lamar Jackson. The baffling thing is that Cowherd placed the Bengals HC-QB combo on No.6 and Super Bowl LVII starter Eagles’ on number 7. This ranking made fans were really angry at him for constantly snubbing Philadelphia and Jalen Hurts.

Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow couldn’t cut it in Colin Cowherd’s list
There is no doubt that Zac Taylor didn’t really have success in his first couple of seasons as a head coach. However, after the arrival of Joe Burrow, he did everything right and led his franchise to its first-ever Super Bowl appearance since 1988. And placing a quarterback like Joe Burrow sixth on this list behind Trevor Lawrence is just Colin Cowherd inviting the fury of fans. He said, “Don’t tell me Zac Taylor should be in the same tier as Andy Reid and Sean Payton.”
Then in at number 7 were Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts. The Eagles just came off a Super Bowl appearance and Hurts had an MVP season. Cowherd said that the Eagles were not great until Sirianni was calling the plays, but when Shane Steichen took over the plays, Philly went all the way to the Super Bowl. Now that Steichen is the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Cowherd feels Sirianni won’t do as good a job.
Fans just had it with Colin Cowherd and his unnecessary takes and the lists he keeps releasing every day. Just a couple of days back, Cowherd said that the Eagles won’t win the Super Bowl in 2023 because they had a lot of “blinking red lights.” Here are a few reactions from fans for snubbing Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts from the list.
Looks like Colin Cowherd is going to be public enemy number 1 entering the 2023 season for his takes.
