Colin Cowherd is an NFL analyst who always displays a keen eye for criticism and can sometimes produce absurd takes that can surprise anyone. This time, it was different. Cowherd didn’t go down the controversial route. Instead, the NFL analyst tried to face some hard facts and explained why the Eagles lost the Super Bowl game to the Chiefs.
The Eagles and the Chiefs, both were stacked when it came to their power-packed rosters. There was Jalen Hurts to go up against Patrick Mahomes. Both the teams also had exceptionally good defenses.
However, the game came down to handling the pressure and thriving in it. Mahomes did that really well and Hurts couldn’t replicate it as his fumble led to a touchdown for the Chiefs.
Cowherd pointed out the same Hurts fumble incident while portraying that the Eagles were less intense than the Chiefs who were fighting with all their might. The ‘Herd’ also believes that the Chiefs had a better special team with great coaches who were able to adapt to the changes going on in the game. Something the Eagles clearly lacked.
However, the most important point that Cowherd made was about the Eagles’ defense, and also called out their fans for blaming the refs for the Super Bowl loss against the Chiefs.

Colin Cowherd blames the Eagles’ defense and not the refs for the Super Bowl loss
The Eagles fell privy to their own mistakes and then later made the officiators the scapegoats due to their controversial game-calling. Every game has some calls that are controversial or wrong. However, the game should go on without any side being salty about it.
Colin Cowherd believes that the Eagles’ defense wasn’t present throughout the entirety of the game and it was pretty easy for the Chiefs to run down the ball.
“Philly defense was awful for 2 hours straight,” Colin Cowherd stated on the Herd. “And you’re going to blame a penalty that’s a penalty because of the timing of it.”
Cowherd also hit back at the enraged Eagles’ fans who called out the NFL for being rigged and fixed. The analyst believes that the penalty was controversial, but that was a masterclass by Chiefs HC Andy Reid and was part of the game.
The Eagles needed to be more aware of the psychological battles, as this was the important game of the season. The only ones who should be blamed for the Eagles loss are the Eagles themselves.
