Colin Cowherd has an interesting yet controversial take on the Patrick Mahomes and A-Rod debate
Colin Cowherd
Colin Cowherd jumped in on the recent discussion on who is a better QB between Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. After the Sammy Watkins statement that Rodgers was better than Mahomes, everyone started to give their opinions and Colin Cowherd didn’t hold back.
Cowherd went all out in his show ‘the Herd’ and started by saying that the shade on Patrick Mahomes is unfair. Instead of going the diplomatic route and complimenting both the players, he chose one above the other and his choice was interesting.
According to Colin Cowherd, Patrick Mahomes is not in the same league as A-Rod because he is better. He compared both of their 11 playoff games where Rodgers went 5-6, with 95.8 great passer rtg but the Chiefs QB was on another level when he went 8-3, with 105.7 passer rtg.
Cowherd also pointed out that the Packers QB is not a clutch player like Mahomes. The 26-year-old often performs better in the 4th quarter and the biggest advantage that Mahomes has over Rodgers is his age.

“No one is on his level”: Colin Cowherd believes Patrick Mahomes is a class apart
Patrick Mahomes is a great player and his former teammates are being unfair to him when Sammy Watkins said Aaron Rodgers is better than him and when Tyreek Hill said Tua Tagovailoa is better than him.
“NO GM in the league will choose Rodgers over Mahomes” Colin Cowherd said on the Herd. This statement is accurate for many reasons and not just for their skill. Patrick Mahomes is less controversial and focuses more on his game, unlike Rodgers. The Chiefs QB is also considerably younger than his Patriots counterpart and we all know that age is an important factor in the NFL.
I think it’s not fair to compare players who are poles apart. Aaron Rodgers is a legend of the game who has proved himself a lot in his prime whereas Patrick Mahomes has just hit his prime and we don’t know how his future will turn out. Instead of comparing the two quality players, we should just enjoy them.
