The Miami Dolphins, led by their star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, are currently tied for the best record in the league with 5 wins and just 1 loss through the first 6 weeks of the NFL regular season so far. But they still couldn’t silence some of the doubters including the Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd.
During a recent episode of the Fox Sports show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the renowned sports analyst implied the Dolphins currently have the best record in the only league, only because they haven’t faced some elite teams yet.
Miami’s 5 wins have come against the NFL dreads…against the Bills they got completely worked.Cowherd on the Fox Sports show The Herd.
Furthermore, Cowherd went to mock the Miami-based football team and questioned their ability to go toe-to-toe with the elite teams of the league. The Fox Sports personality further compared the Dolphins with fake and cheap products.
As of today, the Dolphins are like a lot of men in Miami, they’re leasing a speedboat. Those are Gucci knockoffs. The watch really isn’t gold, it’s fake. They call ‘em $40,000 millionaires, and Miami’s got a lot of ‘em. … Miami is great at bullying bad teams. They have shown no indication they can go to toe to toe with the great teams.
Cowherd isn’t really reaching when he said the Dolphins haven’t faced any competition yet. In the 6 games they have played so far, their best opponents were their division rivals Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins ended up suffering a loss against them in a blowout manner.
Besides, 4 of the 5 teams, the Dolphins have beaten so far, all have losing records through the first 6 weeks. In fact, the 5 teams, the Phins have defeated so far in this season have a combined record of 6-23.
So, it’s true the Dolphins haven’t shown the league that they can go toe-to-toe against the elite teams. But the Dolphins have a chance to prove themselves in week 7 when they are scheduled to go against the 5-1 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Colin Cowherd talks Tua Tagovailoa trade value
The Dolphins’ former first-round draft pick Tua Tagovailoa is having an explosive year and has inserted himself into the MVP conversation in the early stages of the 2023 season. But there are still some people who keep doubting Tua, including Colin Cowherd.

During a recent episode of the FS1 show The Herd, Colin said that if the Phins QB Tua Tagovailoa was in the trade market, he wouldn’t receive a lot of interest from other teams.
What is the market for your quarterback? The answer is kind of a small market. Maybe four.
Cowherd went on to say that QBs like Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and Trevor Lawrence would have 25+ teams calling if they were on the trade market, but Tua would only interest four teams.
