Aaron Rodgers’ trade to the Jets is the most speculated trade of the season. The legendary QB has decided to get a change in scenery and has decided to move to New York.
The Packers have also agreed to let their best player leave and are currently negotiating a trade deal for Rodgers. However, both teams have reached a stalemate over a possible deal for the Super Bowl-winning QB.
The Jets aren’t willing to give a first-round pick for Rodgers. Instead, they have opted to offer a second-round pick to the Packers this year and a conditional third-round pick next year if all things go accordingly.
Colin Cowherd recently slammed Rodgers for his absurd market value and the deal that the Packers are actually looking for. Cowherd also stated that the Jets are accurate in their assessment. The Packers QB is old, non-committed to the offseason, and doesn’t guarantee a great performance.
On the other hand, Cowherd also gave the example of the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who is currently the best player in the league. The NFL analyst believes that if Mahomes becomes available today, then he will be traded with a minimum of 5 first-round draft picks. These are exceptional numbers that would make him the most expensive trade of all time. However, the same can’t be said about Aaron Rodgers.
“If Patrick Mahomes was available on the market today — 5 first round picks minimum,” Colin Cowherd stated on the Herd. “Green Bay and the Jets are in a bit of a stalemate.”

Aaron Rodgers’ market value has taken a massive hit in a couple of seasons

An NFL player’s market value is determined by his performance, his training, his attitude, and, most importantly, his ability to get along with his teammates, as football is a team sport.
Aaron Rodgers‘ market value has taken a massive hit this past couple of seasons due to various reasons. Rodgers was once regarded as the best QB in the league and winning an MVP award was pretty normal for him.
However, last season wasn’t kind to the QB who probably had the worst season of his career. This, coupled with his controversial attitude and not being committed to the preseason, resulted in his market value getting diminished over time.
Currently, the great Aaron Rodgers is just regarded as an old QB in the latter half of his career. Regardless, there are still many who believe that the 40-year-old has a lot left in his tank and will be a reinvigorated player once he joins the Jets. Although, it’s still unknown if the Jets are willing to invest a lot for just 1 or 2 years of his service.
