The New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has developed a reputation for being a dirty player in the league. Recently, the former 1st round pick came under fire for allegedly grabbing the New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner’s private parts during their week 3 matchup. And now, Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd claims he is hearing some bad things about Jones.

“We’re hearing some stuff on Mac Jones,” said Cowherd in a recent episode of the Fox Sports show The Herd. “J Mack (Jason McIntyre) and I are not gonna talk about it on the air because we don’t want to yet. We are not going to get into the specifics, we’re just hearing stuff that isn’t great.”

Cowherd was waiting for Jason McIntyre to chirp in on the topic, but he refused to talk about it by saying, “Do not put me on camera for that” before swiftly changing the topic. It is unclear what Colin Cowherd and McIntyre were talking about.

Jones recently came under fire after he seemingly grabbed Gardner’s private parts during the Patriots-Jets game in week 3 of the 2023 NFL season. The former Pro Bowl QB did not get suspended for it, but fans and many other players weren’t happy about it.

In fact, this is not the first time Jones has gotten into trouble over actions like that. He has done it repeatedly, which has given Jones a dirty reputation in the league. Recently, Jones’ former teammate Devin McCourty advised to Jones not let his competitive edge get the better of him during the games.

While McCourty acknowledged that Jones has repeatedly found himself in bad sportsmanship situations, the former Pats defensive back still defended Mac and said that the New England quarterback is not a dirty player.

Jones said that he was simply saying “good job” to the Jets defense while getting up from the field after a hard tackle. The young quarterback claimed the area where he made contact with Gardner was unintentional.

Nonetheless, Jones is currently focused on the Dallas Cowboys, who the Patriots are scheduled to face this Sunday in their week 4 matchup. The Pats will look to improve to 2-2 with a victory against the Cowboys this weekend.
