The first season of Deion Sanders as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes has been a roller coaster ride. He provided some amazing performances that led his team to some memorable wins.

However, on the other hand, many analysts have raised their eyebrows in some games where he failed to meet coaching expectations and his team eventually suffered a great loss. With three games remaining in the pipeline, the Buffaloes have a 4-4 record.

Notably, this has been their best season since 2020, as they performed much better than the previous season. Last year, they were abysmal and registered only one win and eleven losses out of their 12 games.

With that being said, there is no denying the fact that Sanders brought some real change to the team. He changed the entire squad by including 53 new players in the lineup and his tactics provided visible results.

The team won four games and needs to win another two in the last three to be eligible for the 2023 Bowls. In the first half, the Buffaloes performed pretty well, as they won three of their first three games.

In this context, multiple decisions are popping up about whether he will be available for NFL coaching next season. Speaking on this much-debated topic, Coach Prime confirmed that he had no intention to coach at the professional level. His idea is clear, and he does not see himself ready for the big stage.

Appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, the coach said:

I don’t think I’m built for the NFL. I appreciate the game so much, and I respect the game so much and what the game has consistently done for me.

Vitamin M does not suit Sanders

The problem that Sanders feels regarding NFL coaching is that Vitamin M does not suit him. He presently sees a lot of players playing the game only for money at the professional level, and Sanders does not have a lot of respect for them.

He does not relate to these players as he always resembled passion and joy when he was a player. This is the sole reason that the HC does not want to join the NFL.

When I see a guy getting paid millions and millions of dollars and he has no respect for the game, does not want to excel and exceed expectations of the game, I’m gonna have a true problem. I’m too brutally honest and I want to win that much, and I need everybody that respects the game, and oftentimes money clouds that judgment.

There is a high possibility that his son, Shedeur Sanders, may end up playing in the NFL next year. However, Coach Prime said that he wants him with the Buffaloes next year rather than playing in the professional league.
