Head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots have the romance that many dream of. The head coach has been in charge since 2000 and has produced magic for the team.

He has led his team to win 17 AFC East Division titles and 13 appearances in AFC Championship games. In addition to this, the veteran head coach has led his team to nine Super Bowl appearances with a record six wins. With that being said, Belichick is arguably considered the best coach in this league.

However, all romances come to an end one day, and Belichick’s relationship with the New England Patriots can have a permanent separation.

There are rumors that this might be his last season with the Patriots. After that, he can be traded to the Washington Commanders. Speculations are rising high that the Commanders owner, Josh Harris, is heavily interested in him and will provide his best efforts to sign him as head coach of the Commanders.

In the recent episode of Zach Gelb’s Show on CBS Sports Radio, writer and football columnist Mike Florio shed light on these rumors. The analyst said:

I’m hearing chatter to this effect, not that it’s reporting, but when you’re plugged into the NFL grapevine and you hear something like this, it’s too good to keep to yourself.

Bill Belichick’s latest season with the Patriots has been marked by disappointment. The Patriots had a bad start, and after eight games, they are standing with a 6-2 record. The situation has gone so bad that multiple analysts have questioned his credibility. They also said that Bill Belichick suffered without his best weapon, Tom Brady.

The Washington Commanders are struggling: Can Belichick be an answer to them?

The Washington Commanders are also limping this season. They had a good start but failed to carry the momentum on. The team is sharing a record of 5-3, and in the coming time, things can become more difficult for them.

Harris knows it well and is seeking an answer to all the problems. With that being said, it seems like Belichick is the perfect option for him. Florio said:

There’s a theory out there that when the season ends, Josh Harris the new owner of the Commanders is going to call the Patriots and inquire about what it would take to get Bill Belichick. So the Patriots wouldn’t fire him. The Patriots would especially trade him to Washington.

Whether Belichick can become an option for the problems that the commanders are having is yet to be seen. Since Brady left him, he has not won a single Super Bowl. The performance of his team has significantly declined over the year. In this present context, there is a doubt that Belichick will do justice to the commanders.
