The NFL launched an investigation under the attorney Mary Jo White over sexual assault allegations and toxic workplace complaints on the Washington Commanders owned by Daniel Snyder. It’s been more than a year since the investigation started and no reports have been made public yet. Amidst this, United States Congressman Jamie Raskin has urged NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to release the report.

The United States Maryland district representative Jamie Raskin wrote a long letter to Roger Goodell urging him to disclose Mary Jo White’s investigation report on the Commanders and Daniel Snyder.

“I write with regard to the National Football League’s investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and financial malfeasance against Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder,” Raskin wrote in a long letter, per the Post.

“More than a year has passed since your pledge to ‘share the results of that investigation,’ yet, to date, no part of the information has been released to the public. In light of the impending sale of the Commanders franchise, I urge you to honor your commitment to release the report in its entirety and ‘take additional disciplinary action if warranted.”

Unlike previous investigation reports about the Commanders by attorney Beth Wilkinson, Roger Goodell repeatedly said that he would disclose the report to the public. Wilkinson’s report, which led to Snyder paying $10 million in fines, was swept under the rug by the league.

White started her investigation back in February 2022 and she still hasn’t finalized it according to her reports. Many people believe the NFL has told her to hold back the report since Snyder is in the process of selling his team. The report is expected to be publicized after the league approves the Commanders’ sale in their meeting that’s supposed to take place on July 20.

Back in 1999, Daniel Snyder bought the Washington Redskins along with Jack Kent Cooke Stadium for $800 million. It was the most expensive transaction in sports history at that time.

Under Snyder’s leadership, the Washington-based football team has a 164–220–2 regular season record and a 2-6 postseason record. Furthermore, his tenure was filled with controversies, which eventually led to him selling the franchise.

Snyder has agreed to sell the Commanders to the Josh Harris-led group for a record $6 billion. The sale is pending approval from the league’s owners. Once the owners approve the sale, Snyder’s horrific era in Washington will be officially over.
