“This BLOWS”: Los Angeles Rams suffer a devastating blow as WR Cooper Kupp is out for 4-weeks after sustaining an ankle injury

Cooper Kupp was in pain and limped off the floor following his injury.

The Los Angeles Rams‘ aspirations to return to the Super Bowl may be done. The defending champions have had a rocky season as they still struggle to shake off the Super Bowl Hangover. This time, their season has taken a turn for the worse as the team’s star wideout Cooper Kupp went down with an injury.

Kupp suffered an injury to his leg in the middle of the Rams’ Sunday Night Football game against the Arizona Cardinals, a game in which LA lost 27-17. As Cooper Kupp attempted to catch the ball to make a play, he was hit by defensive back Marco Wilson, who happened to roll up on the wideout’s leg.

After this play, the star wideout sat on the sidelines with his elbow on his knee and head in his hands. He thought he could return to the game, but despite his best efforts, he was done for the night. Kupp limped back to the Rams’ locker room. As Kupp went down, so did the odds of the Rams repeating this season.

HC Sean McVay has placed Cooper Kupp on Injury Reserve:

The Rams have a dismal record of 3-6 this season and sit at the bottom of the NFC West. It is notable to know that this is the second time Cooper Kupp is suffering an ankle injury this season, but he did not miss any time after the first time. The wideout had a season to remember for ages in 2021 and he went on to win the Super Bowl MVP.

Cooper Kupp is the heart and soul of the LA Rams offense. Without him, the team is bound to struggle. HC Sean McVay announced that Kupp will undergo surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday. He is set to have tightrope surgery on the high ankle sprain.

HC McVay is optimistic about Kupp returning to the field this season but since he is placed on Injury Reserve, it means he will be out for a minimum of 4-weeks. The surgery requires a 4-6 week recovery period. By that time, the Rams may have ended their 2022 NFL season and probably would not even make the playoffs. In light of this news, fans were not happy as they lost their hopes in the Rams moving forward. One fan retorted, “This blows” on Twitter.

The Rams face the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, and the Raiders in the upcoming 4-weeks.
