American football is a terribly dangerous sport. It demands a lot of physicality from the players and tests their physical as well as mental strength during the games. The NFL is the best American football league in the world. People have their favorite teams and they support them till the very end.

However, sometimes the sport has a cruel way of affecting people. The fans. That is what happened to Tim Washington, who died after collapsing 100 yards away from the FedEx Field.

A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, Washington wanted to watch his beloved Cowboys take on the home team, the Washington Commanders, on January 7. However, he collapsed just 100 yards away from the stadium and lost his life. After hearing this news, the Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, sent a handwritten note to Washington’s family.

Special thanks to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys for reaching out to our family and recognizing my dad. He would be so proud.
Washington’s son, Tim Washington Jr. wrote on a Facebook post.

Jones described learning of Washington’s passing as “humbling and heartbreaking” in the letter.

On behalf of the Jones family and our organization, we offer our deepest sympathies-Timothy's support humbles me, and he is an inspiration that goes beyond the game of football.
Jones wrote

Jones’ Cowboys lost the Wild Card round this last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers after a 12-5 season. They were touted to win the Super Bowl this year but failed to do so again. It will be a long off-season for Jerry and his men.

Terrell Owens criticized Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ ownership after playoff failure

The Dallas Cowboys once again failed to do anything meaningful in the postseason. After a great regular season, which saw them win their division, the Jerry Jones-owned team faltered in the Wild Card round against the Green Bay Packers.

That invited a lot of criticism from the fans and pundits alike. Former Cowboys’ receiver, Terrell Owens, was one of them who shared his criticism about the ownership.

With the Cowboys, honestly, I kind of expected that, and that’s just me being honest--I kind of take myself out of being a fan, I try and take myself out of the biases. But that organization is just not really run well.
Owens said in a KGMZ-FM interview

He further continued,

For Jerry Jones, that money is always going to win, whether they win or lose or draw. So it doesn’t matter what they do. The best thing they can do is boycott going to some of those Cowboy games for a number of years until they till they get to at least the NFC Championship.

Dallas, coming off a disappointing postseason, will again head into the upcoming season with Super Bowl hopes. But as long as Jones is in charge, nothing will change, according to Owens.
