The Dallas Cowboys started their NFL journey with a bang. In their opening encounter, the team thrashed the New York Giants by a stunning 40-0 victory. The team put a fabulous display on the field and silenced the critics who suspected their abilities during the offseason.
The Dallas coach and players are happy with the result. But someone else, who is no longer associated with the Cowboys is leaving no stone unturned in expressing the joy over the result. Michael Irvin, who recently got relieved from the NFL suspension order, did not hesitate to express his emotion. From his Twitter account, the former Cowboys WR wrote on Twitter, “Has any other @NFL team put up a 40 burger main course, while serving a Donut for dessert in week one ??”
Not only that but also he openly praised the Cowboys from the sets of the famous show, UNDISPUTED. He praised the defensive ability of the team along with appreciating the attacking explosiveness. “
“Last year, we put 30-35 in a game and it was offensive points. Last night it was defensive win all the way around. I started yesterday’s show talking about the Dallas Cowboys’ in explosiveness you know explosiveness you know you see the speed they have outside. You see the speed they have running back,” he added.
He further added, “But let me tell you what I love on the offensive side. I was upset the first drive they made. They went down usually the first drive you get in the red zone that’s going to tell you how the team you are.”
The Cowboys can hope for something big this season
This offseason, Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys said that his team is in a better situation this season. A lot of people laughed over his remark. However, Jones was not joking. In the first game, the Cowboys’ defense was so good that their star QB Dak Prescott had very little responsibility. He completed 13-of-24 passes for 143 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the season opener. Their defense clearly had the numbers of the Giants.
The Cowboys, this season, traded Trey Lance in the team. Lance was having a tough time at the San Francisco 49ers due to his continuous injuries. Seeking this as an option, the Cowboys traded him as a developing QB.
Lance did not get any opportunity at the first game. It is to be seen whether he gets an opportunity in the coming games. The Cowboys will be facing the New York Jets on September 17.
