Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers somehow have managed to clinch the NFC South division and get into the postseason. They will face the fifth-seeded Dallas Cowboys, and the long-time Cowboys fan Skip Bayless doesn’t like his favorite team’s chances.
Dallas Cowboys are coming off of one of their worst performance this season as they lost to the Washington Commanders 26-6 on Sunday. Their star quarterback Dak Prescott looked terrible as he threw for only 128 yards and one touchdown in the game while completing just 37.8% of his passes. The expensive quarterback leads the league in interceptions thrown despite missing 5 games in the season.
On the other side, the fully healthy Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently had their best performance of their season as they managed to beat the Carolina Panthers 30-24 in week 17 of the NFL regular season. Furthermore, their franchise QB Tom Brady had a season-best performance as he threw for 432 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.6% of his passes. Bucs star WR Mike Evans had a monster performance as he managed to catch 10 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns in the must-win game.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t start many star players against the Atlanta Falcons in week 18 and whoever they started was pulled out of the game early in the second quarter, which eventually led to their loss. Although Brady and his unit looked solid when they were playing in the game. The 8-9 Bucs have the 4th seed because of their division title and they will face the 5th seeded 12-5 Cowboys in the wild-card weekend, and Cowboys fan Skip Bayless doesn’t like it.
Skip Bayless doesn’t like the Cowboys – Tom Brady matchup
Speaking on his show UNDISPUTED with Shannon Sharpe, the long-time Cowboys fan said that he does not like this matchup and would’ve preferred it further down the road. “I feel like I can’t win,” said Bayless.
Bayless continued that the Bucs have been horrible all season, but when it mattered the most they were able to win the division. “Well, all year they’ve struggled, fumbled, and stumbled, and they’ve been hurt, they’ve been old, they’ve been this, they haven’t been able to get it together except when they absolutely had to beat Carolina to win this division.. my god..they went out and did a number on them,” said Bayless.
Skip also noted that Brady and the Bucs are on an upswing and the Cowboys are down badly. “They feel a little better about themselves than the Dallas Cowboys feel about themselves,” said Bayless.
The long-time Cowboy fan said that he believes the Cowboys are better than Tampa, but he doesn’t like the matchup because he doesn’t want to bet against Brady.“I said all year my Cowboys would make the NFC Championship, but now they have to go to Tampa and face Tom Brady. I do not like this,” said Bayless.“You just gotta be careful with him (Brady) ‘cause‘ he’s the one guy you should never bet against.”
Brady and the Buccaneers will have the home-field advantage against the Cowboys as they have the perks of being a division winner and the veteran QB will look to remain undefeated (7-0) against the Dallas-based franchise.
