The Dallas Cowboys are playing with everything they got to beat Tom Brady for the first time in their franchise history. The Cowboys are currently blowing out the Buccaneers in the wildcard game and playing astounding football on both sides of the ballgame. Even, their inconsistent QB Dak Prescott is playing like an All-Pro QB and not giving the Buccaneers a chance to get back in this game.
However, their kicker has decided not to show up today as he has missed four extra points in their all-important match-up against the NFC South champions. The Cowboys kicker Brett Maher has been consistent all season long but has somehow missed in one half of this game as he has in the entire regular season. To make matter worse, their HC Mike McCarthy keeps going for the extra-point attempt instead of going for the two-point conversion.
The Cowboys are currently leading the Bucs by 24 points and almost guaranteed their victory, but the lead would’ve been 28 if Maher could’ve made the extra points. That’s a 4-point difference, and it’s just not acceptable, especially during the postseason. Even Dak Prescott is frustrated with his kicker and his coach as he was caught on the sideline cameras yelling, “Go for f–king two.”

NFL fans on social media started to clown the Cowboys kicker Brett Maher after he missed four straight extra points in their wildcard matchup against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
Even the Manning brothers were critical of the Cowboys’ kicker and the coach’s decision to keep going for extra point attempts. Since their franchise, QB is playing like a player who gets paid around $40 million a year. They believe that Mike McCarthy should go for two-point conversions.
The missed kicks didn’t cost much this game as they are blowing out the hosts but if Maher can’t get his act straight, it would be very costly in a slugfest against a team like the San Francisco 49ers.
Tom Brady is well known for his comebacks and that’s why he’s known as the comeback kid, but even for him, it would be tough to erase a 24-point deficit in a playoff game with a deflated O-line.
The 4 missed extra points mean it’s basically turned a potential TD lead into a field goal lead, so it will be very costly for them in a close game. If the Cowboys continue playing like they have and beat the Buccaneers, they will head to Levi’s Stadium to meet a red-hot Niners team led by the rookie magician Brock Purdy.
