If there’s one player that’s under the microscope all the time, whether his team wins or loses, that’s Dak Prescott. Being the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys does come with a lot of perks, but it also attracts severe scrutiny.

ESPN Get Up presenter Mike Greenberg once claimed that Prescott’s always in the spotlight because he is part of the ‘America’s Team.’ And for that reason, any speck of negativity gets covered on a massive scale.

But the 30-year-old has been dealing with it for a while and yet continues to deliver. Maybe not at the most crucial moments, as Stephen A. Smith has pointed out time and time again. Prescott recently came out and said,

I have been part of this organization for eight years; whether you b*tch about it or not, it’s not going to stop.

While the two-time pro bowler hasn’t been perfect this season, he is slowly getting to his best. In eight games, he currently sits with a 100.7 quarterback rating and is on course to equal his rookie season numbers. Despite the stats, he remains a target for most analysts due to the blowout loss against the San Francisco 49ers.

It was more of the same when the Cowboys lost by just five points against the Philadelphia Eagles last game. However, for a change, Prescott is receiving a lot of plaudits for a great gesture on matchday 7 vs. the Los Angeles Rams.

Social media applauds Dak Prescott for his heartwarming gesture toward a fan

A video recently surfaced of Prescott meeting with a specially-abled fan named Houston Everett after beating the Rams 43-20. He instantly recognized one of the Cowboys’ biggest supporters, saying, “Houston! Glad you got here. You finally made it!”

But the best part about the video was that he asked Everett for an evaluation of his performance in the game. “What you got for me today?” he asked, to which Houston replied, “Stay focused.”

Prescott questioned, “Use my legs a little bit?” and Everett joked, “Don’t sweat too much, okay?” Prescott concluded, “I am trying not to. I can’t help that man!”

After the heartwarming conversation, they took several photos together to remember the moment. This has touched a lot of people on social media, even those who prefer staying miles away from anything Cowboys.

At halfway through the season, Prescott has shown he is up there with the best signal-callers in the league. His best game in terms of pass completions (25/31) came during the Rams game for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns.

But overall, his best thing was at Lincoln Financial Field, where he threw 374 yards and three touchdowns. He currently sits at 2,011 yards with a 70.2 passer rating and is poised to face the struggling New York Giants, whom they destroyed 40-0 in the opening week.
