In the National Football League, quarterbacks have ruled the roost ever since time immemorial whether it be through their impact on the gridiron or sheer popularity amongst the fans. It is never a bad time to be a quarterback, but it seems like there hasn’t been a better time than this when one would want to become a quarterback.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts signed a record-breaking contract extension with the franchise that will see him pocket a whopping $255 million over the course of the next five years. He’s all set to receive a guaranteed pay of $179.3 million making him the highest-paid player ever.
One such player, who knows what it’s like to earn the big bucks and be one of the most powerful players in a team is Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott who is also a huge fan of Hurts. Prescott heaped praises on his younger compatriot and was extremely proud of the latter when he received the massive extension.
“He’s somebody that was counted out early because of his playstyle and just has had success, trusted himself, and trusted in the process. Proud of him, and he deserves every bit of the money,” Prescott said of Hurts during his appearance on the Adam Schefter Podcast.

Amidst Hurts’ record-breaking contract, there’s yet another scenario going on in the NFL, with Baltimore Ravens quarterback, Lamar Jackson. The former NFL MVP award winner has been at crossroads with the franchise in regard to a new contract ever since the start of the offseason.
Jackson is currently franchise tagged by the Ravens, meaning that he can talk to other franchises and also potentially sign an offer sheet. Things haven’t worked out for him yet with no franchise making him an offer.
Jackson however, had received an offer from the Ravens worth $200 million in guaranteed money according to NFL insider, Ian Rapoport. He hasn’t accepted the offer with reports claiming that he wanted a better contract.
Dak Prescott spoke out on the curious case of Lamar Jackson’s contract situation hoping that the latter would eventually receive a better contract, one that might even top Jalen Hurts’ contract in monetary terms. He also talked about his connection with Lamar during his visit to the Mississippi State facilities.
“I mean, honestly, I try not to listen to a lot of the news but stuff like that you hear friends telling me things. I support everybody and I support those guys getting their money and doing that. Honestly, I hosted Lamar on a visit to Mississippi State as well. So yeah, hopefully, he’s next and he tops Jalen and that’s just the way it goes. And yeah, it will happen for him,” Dak Prescott said on Jackson’s contract situation.
