Dak Prescott has been the starting quarterback for the Cowboys for many years now. The city of Dallas loves its main man and has shown absolute confidence in him during previous seasons.
However, that confidence may now be faltering due to Prescott’s abysmal record in the NFL playoffs. The Cowboys QB has never made it past the playoffs divisional round despite exceptional performance in the regular season.
This season, the Cowboys had a great regular season run but were knocked out by the 49ers in the divisional round. The loss was disappointing and embarrassing. The Cowboys organization now looks forward to making some wide-scale changes and making the side what it was decades ago.
However, they have still put their faith in Prescott’s ability who has a contract that will last till 2025 and make $31 million. Regardless, new reports suggest that the Cowboys may be looking at a change in their QB department and they have a young QB in mind.
C.J. Stroud has been a revelation for the Ohio State football team and has also been confirmed to be a part of the 2023 NFL draft. The Cowboys are reportedly intrigued about signing the young QB who can get them back to the promised land of glorious playoff football.

Prescott will become a free agent in 2025 if he doesn’t sign another contract extension. The 29-year-old QB has not been decent throughout this season and maybe it’s time for the Cowboys to move on.
With a young QB like C.J. Stroud, the Cowboys can really revamp their whole offense and make them deadly yet again. There is also an option where the Cowboys will draft the young QB this season and he will get mentored by the much-experienced Prescott for a couple of seasons.
However, signing C.J. could also be a ruse for the Cowboys to sway Prescott into signing a new improved deal with the team. Whatever the reason may be, the Cowboys seriously need improvements in their offense and most importantly their QB department lacks performance in high-quality games.
The 2023 edition of the NFL draft will be held at the end of April and that’s when everyone will find out what the Cowboys think about C.J. Stroud and if they want to replace the renowned Dak Prescott.
