The Dallas Cowboys have surprised everyone including their fans by signing free agent WR T. Y. Hilton instead of the Super Bowl-winning WR Odell Beckham Jr. The Cowboys were rumored to sign OBJ for several months now, and there were strong speculations regarding his arrival in Dallas. The esteemed WR also visited the city to meet up with Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons as the trio watched an NBA game together.
However, the Cowboys made a complete u-turn on their hiring policy and hired another veteran WR T. Y. Hilton. OBJ seemingly didn’t fit in at the Cowboys and they looked at another option.
Hilton is a four-time Pro Bowler but hasn’t played a single minute this season. The WR has played for 10 seasons with the Colts and was a legendary figure in Indianapolis. The Cowboys expect that Hilton will help them in the deep playoff run this season.
“Great addition,” coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday. “We’ll get him out there Wednesday and get him acclimated. … He had a workout. Everything passed with flying colors.”
OBJ didn’t work out for the Cowboys and he’ll have to take his talents somewhere else. However, there is also speculation that this deal didn’t work out as the Cowboys leaked Odell’s health info which stated that the WR can’t play this season because of the ACL injury he suffered with the Rams last season.

The Dallas Cowboys made a quality move by signing free agent T. Y. Hilton but he is no Odell Beckham Jr. and fans understand that. OBJ is one of the best receivers in the league even when he hasn’t played this entire season.
OBJ coming to the Cowboys was a dream come true for many and it was shattered when the Cowboys decided to go another way. The fans didn’t take this lightly and decided to hit back at the organization for their recent hiring. Although some appreciated the signing of Hilton and acknowledged that he’ll be a valuable addition to the squad.
OBJ himself was roasted by NFL Twitter as he was left hanging by the team in hopes of playing for them. The reactions were pretty interesting and entertaining. Take a look at some of them down below.
