“All this help but Rodgers will still lose in AFC Championship game!” – Dalvin Cook signing a $8,600,000 deal with Aaron Rodgers’ Jets has drawn mixed reaction from social media
While joining Jets was one of the cards, most fans were hoping to see Cook choose his native Miami over any other team.

The wait is over; one of the longest-running free agency sagas finally comes to an end as Dalvin Cook finally finds a new home. The running back will play for the New York Jets alongside Aaron Rodgers in the new season.
Cook choosing the New York Jets was one on the cards, as he had visited them during the training camp last month. He was seen watching the team practice from the sidelines and greeting some of the players. A few fans even tried to woo the 28-year-old into becoming a Jet.
However, there was a long pause after he left the Jersey facility. It picked up again when new franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers announced a cut in his salary. The veteran decided to take $35 million less so that his team could sign more players before the NFL season began.
With Dalvin Cook’s addition, the Jets’ offense looks terrifying. They boast the likes of Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and Allen Lazard, among several others. This crop of players should light up the big apple in 2023.
Besides that, Robert Saleh and Co. managed to keep Cook out of the Miami Dolphins‘ hands. They wanted their native player very badly to assist quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. No wonder some of the Miami faithful are not that pleased with the announcement.
The Jets signing Dalvin Cook received mixed reactions from the fans
Considering the Jets were already favorites to go deep into the postseason by analysts such as Pat McAfee, adding Dalvin Cook made them even stronger. With Aaron Rodgers as their signal-caller, they can dream of winning the Super Bowl. But being labeled the favorite attracts attention and pressure from rival fan bases. Rodgers, in his long and illustrious career, has only once lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and some want it to stay that way.
Dalvin Cook left the Minnesota Vikings on June 9 after a six-year spell. The Jets decided to give him a one-year contract worth $8.6 million, as per ESPN‘s Adam Schefter. However, the fans have to wait a bit longer to see Cook suit up in Jets colors.
The four-time Pro Bowler is one of the best RBs in the NFL. Last year, he rushed for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns on 264 attempts. His best year, however, came in 2020, with 1,557 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.
It’s not clear if Cook would get a look-in ahead of Brecee Hall. He has been on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list for a while but is rumored to return very soon. However, Cook’s addition gives the Jets assurance and depth in that area. He will get substantial minutes even if Hall makes a comeback.
The AFC was already the toughest conference going into the 2023 NFL season, with eight of the 10 highest-paid quarterbacks fighting for glory. Now Dalvin Cook has been thrown in alongside Aaron Rodgers. It will be fun to watch in Jersey and on Hard Knocks.
