Where Dalvin Cook will play next season is one of the biggest unanswered questions that still roams every football fan’s mind. Every week, there’s a new rumor linking the running back to a new team. However, the 27-year-old himself has dropped a massive hint at which franchise jersey he will be wearing in 2023.

A keen observer by the name of @calijets posted on Twitter that Dalvin Cook had started following the New York Jets receiver Allen Lazard earlier today on Instagram. He even shared a snapshot of his account.

Dalvin Cook is inching to get on the field to start drills with his new team, whichever that may be. While he keeps himself fit to hit the ground running when the time comes, for now, he has to wait and see which franchise makes a serious push for him.

This news comes after Jets tight end Tyler Conklin revealed in a recent interview with Good Morning Football that he would relish the chance to play with Cook. Incidentally, they know each other very well since their time grinding together at the Vikings.

Besides Conklin, several football analysts, including Pat McAfee, have demanded that the Jets immediately snap up Dalvin Cook while there is still a chance. Moreover, Cook himself not too long ago expressed his desire to play with DeAndre Hopkins.

Can the New York Jets afford to buy Dalvin Cook even after their summer spending spree?

Well, first things first, Dalvin Cook won’t come cheap. The four-time Pro Bowler is one of the most sought-after free agents on the market. If analyst Tom Pelissero is to be believed, then “Dalvin Cook is not coming in for $4 to $5 million.”

Cook will command a hefty price, somewhere around the $10 million range. He may want something similar to what Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants is presently earning. However, whether the Jets can afford to meet those demands is the main question. They gave the above-mentioned Allen Lazard a four-year contract worth $44 million.

Despite all of that, the biggest summer signing was that of Super Bowl winner Aaron Rodgers. The 39-year-old who left the Packers earlier is looking to start his second journey into the NFL as a Jet. If Cook joins the Jets, Rodgers will have an elite RB with more than 1000 rushing yards for four consecutive seasons. The Jets can make some room for Dalvin Cook, as they have a salary cap of $21,374,057. But it’s highly unlikely they will land both Cook and D-Hop.
