Damar Hamlin‘s road to recovery is nothing short of an inspiration. Just a week after suffering from a cardiac attack, the Buffalo Bills safety was face timing his teammates and cheering them on social media.
As per Bills’ linebacker Matt Milano’s Instagram story, Damar Hamlin is back at the team’s facility having a jolly good time with his teammates ahead of the wild card game against the Miami Dolphins.
While he was cleared by the doctors after two weeks of being hospitalized, he was not included in the starting lineup against the Dolphins. He did however, show his love for the team on Twitter as he watched his team register a win and advance to the divisional round of the playoffs.

Miami Dolphins’ third-string quarterback Sylar Thompson gave Josh Allen and the Bills a run for their money and was too close to snatching the victory away from them. However, the Super Bowl favorites entering the 2022 season regained their composure and bounced back to a 34-31 victory. Buffalo had a solid 14 points lead as they entered the second quarter.
Thompson and the Dolphins put up 17 points in the second quarter and had the lead momentarily before the Bills scored another 6, taking the score to 20-17. It looked like the game was slipping from Buffalo’s hands after Allen turned the ball twice in the game, but he recovered that by throwing 3 touchdown passes. The game sure did have a lot of ups and downs that made it fun to watch. The Dolphins put up a great fight without their starter, Tua Tagovailoa, but it wasn’t enough.
Damar Hamlin was ecstatic about seeing his team win the game. He took to Twitter to share his happiness and wrote: “W (Hands making heart emoji, blue heart emoji, red heart emoji)” After spending a week at the UC Medical Center, the 24-year-old was shifted to a hospital in Buffalo for additional tests and discharged a few days back.
The entire NFL banded together and still continues to show their love and support for Hamlin. The GoFundMe charity set up by Hamlin to help a toy drive for the kids at his mother’s daycare continues to receive monetary support. As of Saturday, around $8.9 million have been raised. As the Bills advance to the divisional round, there is a question of whether Damar Hamlin will make his appearance. The team is yet to give an update on that front. Hopefully, he takes time to recover and start afresh in the 2023 season.
