Damar Hamlin, the safety for the Buffalo Bills has shown positive signs of improvement. The prayers of fans and teammates have paid off as he reportedly opened his eyes for the first time following his scary collapse. In addition to this, Hamlin has also been neurologically responsive, which is a massive sigh of relief.
As per Ian Rapoport, Damar Hamlin has also been gripping the hands of those close to him in the hospital. This means the safety has been able to recognize and identify his family and teammates. As of now, his family is immensely grateful for all the well wishes and medical assistance that they have been given in such a short span of time. Buffalo Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam announced earlier on Thursday via his Twitter, “Our boy is doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement. Thank you God. Keep the prayers coming please. All love 3!”
The Bills had stated earlier today that Hamlin is improving and doing better. His ventilator usage was 100% when he was rushed from Paycor Stadium Field to the hospital, but it has come down to 50% late on Tuesday, which is an immensely positive sign that his treatment and recovery are headed in the right direction. Hamlin’s father has kept the Bills up to date on the athlete’s condition and stated that he is making progress.

Damar Hamlin has shown remarkable improvement over the last 24 hours:
The medical professionals who are overseeing Hamlin’s case at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center released a statement. “While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress.’ It is a sigh of relief to know that his brain is functioning optimally and is responsive.
Hamlin’s positive recovery has his teammates happy and optimistic. The Bills’ squad had spoken to the safety’s father earlier on Wednesday via a phone call which was ’emotional’ and the positive updates were something that the ‘team needed,’ as per one of the sources that spoke to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The call did provide some ‘calm’ for players in one of the worst weeks of their life as per NFL Network’s Mike Giardi. The Bills have stuck by Hamlin as a team and were grieving together when the safety went down against the Bengals. They have been there for their teammate and his family and continue to do.
