The Houston Texans matchup against the Cleveland Browns did not cease to entertain. Despite the Browns having a sizeable lead over the home team, largely because of wide receiver Amari Cooper‘s decision to wake up and put up Jesus-like numbers, the Texans did have a great start to kick off their scoring campaign tonight.

All credit goes to Dameon Pierce, the running back for the team who was entrusted with kick-returning duties at the beginning of the second quarter. Well, he surely did not disappoint as the man went off! Pierce managed to convert the kick into a touchdown, a play that electrified the home crowd and truly brought energy to NRG Stadium.

Dameon Pierce wizzed through the lines of the Browns’ defenses. He almost got caught and risked tripping over at the Browns’ 20-yard line but he managed to find a narrow opening and slid right through thereby keeping the play alive.

From that point forward, it was pretty much a done deal! Pierce put his feet on the gas and ran through all the way to the endzone for a 98-yard kick return touchdown. This play marks the second time a kick return has resulted in a touchdown this season. The first was by Marvin Mims of the Denver Broncos.

This play was needed for the Texans as the team lacked 14-0 heading into the second quarter. It has not been a memorable night for the team that played without C.J. Stroud, with Case Keenum and Davis Mills as the quarterbacks, the team gave up 2 interceptions and Pierce’s play remains the only scoring play of the night as the team headed into the 4th quarter of the game.

The Cleveland Browns torched the Texans. It has been nothing short of a legacy night for Joe Flacco who despite throwing for 2 interceptions bounced back and threw for 3 touchdowns and 368 yards. It is a Christmas miracle for all Amari Cooper fantasy managers as the wideout had 265 yards with 2 touchdowns at the end of the game.
