Damon Arnette once again finds himself in trouble with law enforcement. The highly touted player out of Ohio State University was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Arnette played 13 games in 2 seasons for the Raiders before he was released after a video of him waving a firearm went viral back in 2021. And now, Arnette is once again facing legal charges.

On Wednesday, 26-year-old Damon Arnette was indicted in Nevada on felony gun charges. He allegedly brandished a firearm during an altercation with Las Vegas Strip Casino employee’s back in January 2022. The former defensive back is facing prison time if he is convicted of brandishing a .45 caliber gun and threatening the strip casino employee outside the Park MGM hotel according to the court documents.

Last year, immediately after the incident, the charges against Arnette were dropped due to a lack of substantial evidence. However, Clark County District Attorney claimed that the case would be moved to a grand jury if the investigators found any additional evidence. And now, Arnette is due for an arraignment on assault with weapon charges on May 24 in Vegas and facing prison time if he gets convicted.

Damon Arnette was a highly touted cornerback who excelled at the Ohio State University during his college days. He was drafted by the Raiders and was expected to become the leader of their secondary unit. But, Arnette had other ideas.

After starting just 7 games in 2 seasons, Arnette was released by the Raiders after a video showed him threatening someone with his multiple firearms back in 2021. However, the former cornerback wasn’t charged with any crime at the time.

Arnette got a second chance in the league when the Kansas City Chiefs signed him to a futures/reserve contract in 2022. He was shortly released after his altercation with the hotel employees in Las Vegas Strip casino went public.

The former Raiders cornerback has been out of the league for more than a year now and is now facing legal issues. Besides, he is not the only first-round draft pick by the Raiders who is facing prison. The Raiders’ other first-round pick in 2020 wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is facing 3-10 years in prison for causing a deadly crash that killed a woman and her dog.
