“No red flags”: Dan Campbell with a delusional take on Jared Goff’s capabilities

The Detroit Lions are one of the worst teams in the entire NFL. They are the only team to not have a single-game telecast at primetime despite having the first pick in the draft this season. Head coach Dan Campbell is in reality one of the best coaches that the team could have, however, he does not have enough talent surrounding him to work his magic. Whatever the front office gives, he has to take and try to make the best of it. This season, he has Jared Goff as his primary decision-maker.

Goff is a Super Bowl quarterback, he knows what it takes to play at the next level but not win there, however, a Lions fan would take a trip to the postseason in a heartbeat over a Super Bowl win considering that they have been irrelevant for the past decade. The Rams gave him up to get Matt Stafford and as we all know that paid off for the team.

“He’s commanding the huddle”: Jared Goff has established himself as a leader in the Lions locker room as per Dan Campbell

Dan Campbell has full faith in Jared Goff to win the Lions multiple games

Dan Campbell, the Head Coach for the Detroit Lens has high hopes with Jared Goff as the quarterback. He had a mediocre first season with the Lions in 2021, he ended the year with a 67.2 completion percentage in terms of passes and recorded 3,245 yards with 19 touchdowns total. He had only 8 INTs with a 91.5 passer rating.

He ended the season on a high with 1,250 passing yards total and 11 TDs a pair of pick-sixes following the six starts after bye-week. Dan Campbell expressed immense confidence in Goff and has claimed that the QB has been performing well throughout the offseason program.

“I have no red flags with him. He looks good out there,” he said at the press conference. “He’s got a good grasp of our offense and what we’re doing. He’s commanding the huddle. He’s throwing the ball well, and that’s something that I feel like he does well, that’s one of his strengths. He’s a pretty accurate passer. And so I would say up to this point, he’s having a good spring.”

The team now has a new offensive coordinator in Ben Johnson who has revamped the entire playbook for the team, the team has signed wideout DJ Chark, and drafted WR Jameson Williams in the first round. In addition to this, Amon-Ra St.Brown and T.J. Hockenson are two other offensive weapons that they have in order to make sure Jared Goff has something to work with.

Will the Detroit Lions finish with a better record this season and make the NFL regret not giving the team a single primetime game?
