The fairy tale story of Deion Sanders‘ Colorado Buffaloes takes a temporary halt as they got destroyed by the Oregon Ducks during their much-anticipated college football matchup on Saturday. Sanders’ Buffaloes took huge beating and lost the game 42-6 in a humiliating fashion. As they were taking the beating on the field, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning‘s pre-game speech dissing Colorado’s swagger went viral on social media.

Before the game, the Ducks head coach Dan Lanning took shots at Sanders’ “Hollywood” kind of coaching style in Colorado while addressing his players in an epic pre-game speech.

“Rooted in substance, not flash,” Lanning said. “Rooted in substance. Today we talk with our pads, you talk with your helmet, every moment. The Cinderella story is over They’re fighting for clicks, we’re fighting for wins. There’s a difference. This game ain’t gonna be played in Hollywood. It’s played on the grass.”

Following the epic speech, the Ducks went on to steamroll past the Colorado Buffaloes and secured a massive victory. During the first half, the No.10 ranked Oregon Ducks outscored the No.19 ranked Buffaloes by 35 points. Furthermore, Oregon’s defense allowed Colorado to gain just 23 total yards during the entire first two quarters.

In the end, the Buffaloes suffered a massive 42-6 loss against the Ducks. It was a humiliating and moral downing loss for the Colorado team, who were on a 3-game winning streak before Saturday’s loss.

Deion Sanders’ Colorado humiliated by Dan Lanning’s Oregon

Colorado was only able to gain 199 total yards compared to Oregon’s 522 total yards. Furthermore, the Ducks were gaining 7.2 yards per play on average while the Buffaloes were only gaining 3.4 yards.

Moreover, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders‘ Heisman Trophy campaign also took a hit as he struggled a bit against the Ducks’ dominant defensive unit. Sanders registered only 159 passing yards in the game and when using his legs Sanders registered -34 yards in his 10 carries.

Colorado was certainly missing their two-way star player, Travis Hunter, in the game. Hunter missed the game due to the kidney injury he suffered in Colorado’s previous game.

Nonetheless, the Buffaloes suffered their first loss in Deion Sanders’ era on Saturday in a humiliating fashion at the hands of Dan Lanning’s Ducks. But it might get worse for the Buffaloes next week as they are scheduled to face the No.5 ranked USC and the Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams in their next matchup.
