The Dallas Cowboys are the most talked about team in the NFL. They are the media darlings every year. After a disappointing end to last season where they lost in the Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers, there was a lot of criticism directed towards the America’s Team. They came into the 2023 NFL season with a lot of hype as usual. However, after a brilliant start to the season, the Cowboys are being talked about as potentially the best team in the NFL.
After demolishing the New York Giants in their first game of the season, they blew away the New York-based team, the New York Jets and are sitting 2-0. Their defense is ranked as the best defense in all of the football through two weeks. Former Cowboys quarterback and current NFL analyst, Dan Orlovsky, thinks they are the best team in the NFL right now.
“I don’t if they’re [Dallas Cowboys] going to be down by more than 10 this year.” Orlovsky said on ESPN’s show, First Take. “Who do I honestly feel is gonna be able to be as explosive enough against their defense.”
He further continued by saying, “Watching the way that Dak [Prescott] is playing, the way that he has tied his eyes and his feet to the pass concept, it’s the best he’s looked since his rookie year. That’s the truth. Mike McCarthy is constantly ahead right now because of the efficiency. They’re healthy. Micah [Parsons] is the most dominant force in the NFL right now. That’s the best team in football right now.”
The Cowboys are certainly one of the most complete teams in the NFL right now. They have a great overall roster. The Cowboys still have to prove themselves in the playoffs but if they continue to play like this throughout the year, they might end up winning it all this year. They will play their next game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Dak Prescott says that his practice pays off when he enters the game
Dak Prescott had his worst statistical season of his career last year. He threw for a league-high 15 interceptions during the regular season and there were major doubts about his ability to lead the Cowboys going forward.
Fast forward to the start of this season and he has been brilliant through two weeks. He hasn’t thrown an interception yet and has been playing way better than last season. He credited his practice for his successful start to the season. “It’s easier for me to train and, in that sense, listen to my feet,” Prescott said. “Practice. Practice pays off when you get into the game because it’s almost a rhythm. It’s almost a dance.”
Prescott will hope to continue his impressive start to the season and lead the Cowboys to a deep playoff run this season. They will play their next game against the 0-2 Arizona Cardinals and will enter that game as firm favorites to improve to a 3-0 record.
