Former NFL quarterback and football analyst Dan Orlovsky has surprised football experts by saying that the New York Jets is the ‘most hunted’ team in this year’s NFL. He implied that the New York-based team will have a massive target on its back.

From the sets of ‘First Take Monday,’ Orlovsky asserted that experts need to have eyes on the Jets as it is ‘by far’ the most hunted team in this NFL season. He further stated that the team is ahead of the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

But what makes the Jets special? The 47-year-old analyst explained that the team is gifted with an outspoken coaching staff. Moreover, its presence in this year’s ‘Hard Knocks’ and the inclusion of the quarterback Aaron Rodgers have made it stronger to compete in this year’s NFL season.

“There is no question asked that this team is the most targeted football team in all of football, and rightfully so,” said Orlovsky. “This team has got the biggest target on them. That will be everybody’s “Super Bowl” per week to try to knock them off,” he added. 

Stephen A. Smith, who was one of the fellow personalities on the show, did not hesitate his surprise over the remarks of the former QB by raising eyebrows and said, “Oh please.” Fans were also spotted on social media, divided over Orlovsky’s comment. While some of them welcomed what the former quarterback had said, others expressed their dissents over the remark.

After a disappointing season in 2022, the Jets are eagerly looking to turn the table this year. Last year, the team performed poorly due to the offensive incompetency. Zach Willson, the first-round pick and quarterback for the Jets, failed to make his mark on the pitch. Hence, the team had to limit itself to less than seven points in the final three games.

With the inclusion of the veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Robert Saleh, the Jets’ head coach, will seek the best results. Despite being poor on the offensive half, the team has now added great defense weapons in the offseason. It will expect to carry the same level of defensive masterclass forward in this year.

New York Jets will start their NFL season this year on 11th September 2023, against AFC rivals Buffalo Bills.
