“He is set up to take a big-big jump”: Dan Orlovsky reckons Zach Wilson has a genuine chance to take a giant leap in his second season
Zach Wilson and Dan Orlovsky
Zachary Kapono Wilson is a young and talented quarterback from Utah. He played college football at BYU and impressed one and all with his top-class performances. In fact, he was named the bowl game MVP on two occasions.
It was evident that he will be roped in by an NFL franchise which is exactly what happened in 2021. He was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft. Although he didn’t post incredible numbers, Dan Orlovsky reckons he will come back strongly in the coming season.
“Zach Wilson has a really good chance to get better in the second season”: Dan Orlovsky
While talking about Zach on NFL Live, Orlovsky said, “I think for Zach Wilson, it really would set him up to be in the best position for the second year quarterback. If we watch Zach Wilson last year, a lot of struggles early on, gets hurt and those last six games post-injury he was much more comfortable.“
“We are talking about a player who started to get a little bit better towards the end of the season,” Dan further stated, adding that if the Jets make just a couple of changes to the squad, Wilson might end up churning out astounding numbers.
“They need size, if they do that and then they get Tyler Linderbaum who is a perfect scheme-fit, Zach Wilson not only has the chance to better in the second year, I honestly believe Zach Wilson would have the chance to take off and take a giant leap in the second season,” Dan further claimed.
It will be interesting to see how the Jets perform in the coming season.
