Quarterbacks are always in demand and it’s no surprise that most teams aim to pick up the best options early on in the NFL Draft. With the 2023 NFL Draft fast approaching, it is estimated that Bryce Young or CJ Stroud will become the number one pick.
However, there is another name which many are overlooking but could be a game changer for whichever team he goes to. University of Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson is a top talent and the Houston Texans should pick him up at the No.2 spot.
The No. 1 pick with the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans have No 2 and there is an understanding that they will not utilise it to pick a quarterback. Speaking on the “Get Up” show by ESPN, Dan Orlovsky said they should not pass on this opportunity.
Dan Orlovsky can’t stop praising Anthony Richardson

Former NFL quarterback and ESPN pundit and analyst Dan Orlovsky has heaped praise on Anthony Richardson and said that the Houston Texans should grab him at the No. 2 spot. Orlovsky said that Anthony Richardson’s physical ability makes him a top prospect
“I take Anthony Richardson at Florida, because number one the physical talent is so good he becomes top five in the NFL at any position is he matches what it should be. And number two the biggest complain about Anthony, or knock on him, is the accuracy issues — and I don’t believe that there’s any visual evidence.’”
There have been concerns about Anthony Richardson’s accuracy and Dan Orlovsky even brought out game clippings to show it’s not a worry. Orlovsky has spoken highly about Richardson and commented that the latter is the most talented player in the upcoming draft.
“Everybody has said, ‘accuracy issues’ — it’s not there! Maybe numerically, I could agree with that. But the tape does not say Anthony Richardson has accuracy issues. That was one game, I showed you three passes that would have gone over 100 yards and one of them was a touchdown. He’s the most talented player in this draft at the quarterback position, you take him at No. 2.”
If the Houston Texans don’t go for a quarterback at No.2 they will most likely sign edge rusher Tyree Wilson.
