The Green Bay Packers might have not just destroyed the Dallas Cowboys but have potentially broken the entire team up. The first person to leave is none other than defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who has been given multiple opportunities from teams across the NFL to apply for the position of Head Coach.

As per Sports Illustrated, starting Wednesday, Quinn will be meeting with teams across the NFL beginning with the Carolina Panthers and the Tennessee Titans.

As the week progresses, he has the Washington Commanders and the Los Angeles Chargers who were expected to go with Jim Harbaugh as their next HC on his itinerary as well. Oh, and also, the Seattle Seahawks who just split with Pete Carroll, have the defensive mastermind ranked pretty high on their ‘wish list’ as per the source.

Dan Quinn is most likely as good as gone, he is the defensive mastermind who turned the Dallas Cowboys into a defensive powerhouse this season. Albeit the team’s last game did not go as planned because while the team’s offense struggled, the defense did give up 30 points as well. However, the loss against Green Bay cannot be completely put on Quinn as Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott fell short as well.

Dan Quinn has previously led the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl as a Head Coach

There are plenty of reasons why Dan Quinn would consider becoming a Head Coach for another NFL team. The future is grim in Dallas for Mike McCarthy and this includes all his coordinators. There is no guarantee McCarthy will have a job a week from now and that is something that would concern Quinn because the possibility of a new HC wanting to start afresh with new coordinators cannot be ruled out.

Besides, he will always have a ceiling in Dallas, beyond which he will not be able to grow. The Cowboys on the other hand would move heaven and earth to ensure Dan Quinn stays because, after all, he gets the credit for the team’s defensive prowess. But Quinn was a Head Coach before and then took a step down to become a defensive coordinator.

He took the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl in 2016 but that year’s big game was remembered for all the wrong reasons. The Falcons blew a 28-3 lead to Tom Brady and the Patriots. He joined the Cowboys in 2021 as the defensive coordinator and since then, the team’s defense has drastically improved.

It is not surprising that teams are considering Dan Quinn as their next HC, remember that he was also the mastermind behind the Legion of Boom defense in Seattle. His departure will be a blow to the Cowboys.
