Dan Quinn wants to get rid of the Cowboys tag. During his tenure at the Dallas-based team, the ex-defensive coordinator did a decent job. Now, after getting the head coaching duties at the Washington Commanders, the former defensive coordinator wants to wash away the ghosts of his history with the Cowboys.
His recent interview was a testament to that. The ex-DC was at the NFL Combine press conference where he was asked about what went wrong. A rather weird answer had people thinking that he was not a bit interested in the affairs of the Cowboys.
The former DC and the present head coach of the Commanders stated:
Yeah of course, there was a huge after-action to find out why the performance went to that standard. And, I wish there was one thing to say. One thing that we could have done better, one thing we could have done differently in that space. Because those are the games where we need the spark. Those are difficult to deal with.Dan Quinn said
The Dallas Cowboys performed brilliantly throughout the regular season. They were expected to follow it up in the playoffs as well. However, that did not happen. In a surprise, the Packers thrashed the Cowboys and the latter faced another playoff exit. The defense which performed up to the mark in most of the games, choked terribly in the playoffs.
Quinn, after the game, did not stay with the team. He got a job offer and decided to take that forward. He has since joined the Commanders as the head coach.
