“Tired of losing,” Bears WR Darnell Mooney breaks silence of team’s HORRENDOUS performance last season and sets big targets once again under Justin Fields’ leadership
Mooney has learned a lot while rehabbing and wants to use that knowledge to win in 2023.

It has been a tough 16 months for Chicago Bears receiver Darnell Mooney. His season was already off to a rough start and ended after just 12 games due to an ankle injury. Now he’s back running and hungry to win.
Mooney was visiting his father’s hometown in McCook to kick off his youth football camp. He recalled that he would often come back there during the holidays as a kid. After spending a chunk of his offseason in rehab, Mooney claims he is feeling ready to roll.
“There have been some ups and downs,” Darnell Mooney revealed while talking with WGN Chicago. “I’ve enjoyed the journey and learned a lot from being able to sit down.” He was with Eddie Jackson during his recovery, and Mooney is grateful for his support.
There has been lots of chopping and changing since the last season on the Bears roster. However, the offensive line remains the same, and Mooney believes that it will help them in the long run. “Another year in the same offense. I’m not on a hype train or anything, but we’re just going to win. We have to,” Mooney adamantly said.
Despite having a patchy couple of years, Mooney’s resolve is still intact. “I know what I’m capable of. I can ball,” Darnell claimed as he is ready for the Bears to begin their final training camp before the 2023 NFL season.
Darnell Mooney is ready to win with Justin Fields

While many have been quick to write about the Chicago Bears’ chances because of their dodgy couple-season performances, analysts like Colin Cowherd have surprisingly kept their faith in them. He believes that the Bears have a good chance of reaching the playoffs because the whole NFC has gotten weaker compared to last season.
The Bears offense ranked in the middle of the pack, with Justin Fields behind them delivering 59% accurate balls. However, that could change this season, as Darnell Mooney is making his return. Alongside Chase Claypool and tight end Robert Tonyan, the Bears are in a better position.
Nevertheless, the offseason recruitment of D.J. Moore will pose a great challenge for Mooney to get on the team. He is entering the final season of his rookie four-year contract. But Mooney’s focus is on winning. “I am Tired of losing; get ready to win,” Mooney declared.
Mooney threw for 493 yards with an average of 12.3 and recorded two touchdowns last season. He will be hoping 2023 will go better than the previous ones.
