The New York Jets’ former first-round pick Darron Lee has been slammed with an arrest warrant after he missed appearing in court over domestic violence charges that were filed back in April. The former Jets linebacker was eventually arrested in Ohio. He was accused of assaulting his own mother and the mother of his children.
The mother of Lee’s son named Dublin called the Ohio cops back in April to report that the ex-NFL linebacker Lee was beating his own mother. Dublin told the cops that she was downstairs and heard a noise from upstairs.
When she went upstairs to check, Lee was standing over his mother with a closed fist. Lee’s mother was admitted to the hospital, and she claimed that her son had punched her in the head “eight to nine times.”.
While the 6’1″ linebacker was under investigation regarding this incident, a separate case of him allegedly beating his son’s mother emerged. According to reports, Lee allegedly threw a phone at a woman “which struck her head, causing her ear to bleed, grabbing her neck while punching the pillow beside her head, causing red marks to her neck.”
The 28-year-old linebacker suspected that the woman cheated on him according to court documents. Nonetheless, an arrest warrant was issued in Franklin County, Ohio, for Lee after he missed out on the court date.

Darron Lee played for 5 years in the NFL

After a successful college football career with the Ohio State Buckeyes, the highly touted linebacker Darron Lee entered the National Football League back in 2016.
Lee was drafted by the New York Jets in the first round (20th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. The 6’1″ linebacker was expected to be a dominant force in the Jets’ defensive unit, but he ended up as a ‘not so-good’ draft pick.
Darron Lee never lived up to the hype and his potential, as he only stayed in New York for 3 years. During his 3 year stint with the Jets, Lee registered 4 sacks, 241 total tackles, and 3 interceptions. The Jets swiftly shipped him to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick.
Lee stayed in Kansas City for just one season and started two games. After that brief stint with the Chiefs, Darron Lee was signed by the Buffalo Bills to their practice squad in 2020 and played one game for them. He became a free agent following the 2020 season and hasn’t played a snap in the NFL ever since.
