The Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams gets cleared of criminal charges after he shoved a freelance photographer in Kansas City during last season. However, the star wideout is still facing a civil lawsuit and the NFL could still punish him for his conduct.
The prosecutor’s office in Kansas City dropped the assault charges on Davante Adams on June 5th, according to multiple reports. Court documents state Adams was cited for intentionally harming the crew member, who allegedly suffered “whiplash and headache.” Furthermore, the report also alleges that Park Zebley, the man who got pushed, also had a concussion.
While the criminal charges have been dropped, the Raiders WR Adams still faces a lawsuit. Park Zebley filed a lawsuit against Adams, the Raiders organization, and the Kansas City Chiefs, among others involved in the incident. The civil lawsuit is still pending in the Missouri court system.
The incident happened back in October 2022 during the Chiefs-Raiders matchup. After a heartbreaking 30-29 loss against the Chiefs, the Raiders wideout Adams aggressively pushed the freelance photographer Zebley while walking to the locker room. Zebley was working as a photographer with ESPN’s Monday Night Football crew.
Adams apologized to Zebley during the press conference after the game. “I want to apologize to the guy,” said Adams.”I want to say sorry to him because that was just frustration mixed with him running in front of me and I shouldn’t have responded that way and that’s how I initially responded. I want to apologize to him for that.”

Davante Adams looks to continue his form with new QB calling shots

The Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams will be playing with a third different QB in the last 3 years. Adams left Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the 2022 off-season to join the Las Vegas-based football team.
In his first season with the Raiders, Adams proved that he doesn’t need Rodgers to shine on the big stage as he registered 1516 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns (league high) while catching passes from Derek Carr.
As a result, Adams received his 6th straight Pro Bowl nod and 3rd straight first-team All-Pro recognition. However, the Raiders ended up releasing their franchise QB Carr, who eventually signed a new deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Furthermore, the Raiders added the 2-time Super Bowl Champion Jimmy Garoppolo to their roster, who will potentially be the starting QB for them in the upcoming season. Adams looks to continue his good form with a new QB once again.
