The Las Vegas Raiders got a new lease of life after letting go of their head coach Josh McDaniels after a torrid start to the season. He was `replaced by LB coach Antonio Pierce and the Raiders took the field against the New York Giants without McDaniels for the first time since the the end of 2021. It seems like the good vibes are back in Las Vegas as the Raiders thumped the Giants by 24 points.
Raiders’ WR Davante Adams has had a difficult season. He has often cut a frustrated figure throughout the season. However, the All-Pro wide receiver feels that it is going to get better for the Raiders going forward. Adams enjoyed some NBA action with friend and former MLB star Dexter Fowler. During the game, an NBA official took his chance to have a conversation with the star receiver.
Referee told Adams:
Love to see you guys get back on that winning track yesterday.
To which Adams simply replied:
It’s going to be better, now.
The conversation ended with the ref admitting that it seemed like it with the way they have been playing and lastly, the Raiders’ player said that he appreciates it from the ref.
Adams so far this season has 51 receptions for 573 yards and 3 touchdowns. Not great numbers for a player of his standards, but he will hope that a change in leadership might help him going forward. The Raiders will play their next game against the New York Jets on Sunday.
New York Jets reportedly tried to trade for Davante Adams before the trade deadline
Davante Adams had a really bad start to the season. He was often frustrated by the lack of targets and was largely unhappy with the situation in the team. The New York Jets wanted to take advantage of it and, according to sources, tried to make a deadline move to acquire the receiver.
The Las Vegas Raiders might have picked up the Jets’ call, but there “was no chance in hell” that they were going to trade Adams away. The Raiders got rid of their head coach and the GM just one day after their loss to the Detroit Lions last week. They didn’t want to lose their superstar WR as well.
The Raiders then welcomed the New York Giants to the Allegiant Stadium and dismantled them on Sunday. Adams might finally look like his old self under new leadership. The Raiders will play their next game against the New York Jets. Oh, the coincidence!
