Aaron Rodgers‘ potential trade to the Jets has reached an incredible stalemate as both sides decide on the contents of the trade. Rodgers has been with the Green Bay Packers since the start of his career. He became one of the greatest QBs of all time during his time with them.
However, now it feels like A-Rod will be making a move in the NFL and potentially joining the Jets in one of the most expensive trades this season. Rodgers to the Jets trade drama has been going on for several months now. However, nothing is confirmed as yet.
It all started when Rodgers was uncomfortable with the Packers and wanted a move away from them. Regardless, many NFL analysts still believe that the deal won’t be done this season and the 40-year-old QB will be with the Packers.
Rodgers’ teammate David Bakhtiari believes otherwise. The Packers OT believes that the deal will be completed before the NFL draft and the Green Bay-based team will get all the draft picks they need.
“I think the most simple thing is they’ll [the Packers] get whatever picks they wanted. They’ll get it before the draft and then time will show us. He’s going to be a Jet,” David Bakhtiari said on Barstool Sports’ ‘Bussin With The Boys’ podcast.
Aaron Rodgers’ starting position at the Packers is in jeopardy
David Bakhtiari also spoke about Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Packers if things fall apart with the Jets and it’s not looking very bright for the Super Bowl-winning QB.
The Packers are adamant about starting QB Jordan Love and will apparently eat up Rodgers’ massive contract. Bakhtiari believes that the talented QB will be forced to sit on the bench for the remainder of his contract and will get paid, regardless.
“We want what we want, and we’re not gonna bend to anyone. So we’ll just eat it [Aaron Rodgers’ contract]. We’ll pay you, we don’t care,” David Bakhtiari stated. “You [Rodgers] can hang on the side. We’ll pay you [Rodgers] your money, and then we’ll suck anyways, get the picks, as compared to dealing him for something that you shouldn’t have.”
Aaron Rodgers certainly won’t be willing to sit on the bench for the remainder of his playing time in the NFL. Therefore, the veteran QB will try his best to get a deal done in a few days.
