Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship has been the biggest highlight of the NFL season, the power couple has been featured constantly across all media platforms. While their relationship is a beautiful bond, it has irked fans of football. Fans have been complaining about the camera constantly focusing on Swift when the pop star is present at the games of the Kansas City Chiefs to support her boyfriend.

On this pretext, legendary television host David Letterman came to The Eras Tour star’s rescue as he and Paul Shaffer had nothing but positive things to say about the couple’s relationship.

The 76-year-old was referencing the fact that before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce started dating, there was virtually no connection between the fanbases of the two stars. Football fans want to just watch the game and do not take kindly to any form of drama that affects their enjoyment of the game.

Letterman continued, 

The Swifties are saying oh we don't want a footballer in here with Travis Kelce. I say to both camps that this is such a lovely thing, shut up. It's good for the footballers, it's good for Taylor Swift, and it's something positive and happy for the world in a world that generally typically just sucks gas.

Letterman was very kind to the star couple as he made it clear that they should shun all the noise and criticism they are being subjected to.

He is right about the fact that the bond shared between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is nothing short of special and it is positive. In a time where there is no shortage of negative news, to see a bond such as theirs develop and grow into something special is a ray of sunshine.

There is no reason to be hating on the couple because of the coverage being given to them. Neither Travis Kelce nor Taylor Swift asked for it, but they are such significant and influential figures in their respective trades that one cannot not talk about them!

The bigger question that now remains is, if the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl, will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift on the football field?
